While we have done a survey for PMPC 2026 recently, Pope Francis called for a synod on Synodality itself since October 2021 with the Theme “Communion, Participation, Mission”.
The Synod of Bishops will take place in 2023. To begin with this process of walking together as People of God, Pope Francis invites the entire Church to reflect on the above theme that is decisive for its life and mission of the Third Millennium.
In order for all of us to be informed and fully involved, the diocese has prepared the following materials for us. So, please access the following in sequence to know what is required of our response:

SOA team obtained relevant permission from authorities to deliver food aid to Orang Asli villagers in Gerik. Covid-19 SOPs were strictly adhered to with food aid delivered straight to an agreed drop-off point. Collection at the drop-off point was done by the villagers themselves.

SMC EDUCATION AID PROJECT - 6TH & 7TH FEBRUARY 2021
Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, schools have been closed for many months and students are required to have their lessons online. Based on a recent survey, we have found that many students/families do not have accessibility to online lessons due to financial difficulties. Recognising the importance of education for our children, SMC has initiated a project to sponsor devices/ gadgets and data plans for students to continue lessons online.
Application is open to all families in need subject to SMC's discretion. Closing date for application is 15th March 2021.

On the afternoon of 2nd February 2021, the government announced the extension of the Movement Control Order (MCO) throughout the country (except in Sarawak) up to 18th February 2021. As such, parishioners are encouraged to continue following masses online until further notice. For pastoral needs, please call the parish office or Fr Anthony Liew to make the necessary arrangements.

Senior Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri announced that five more states including Perak, will be placed under MCO (Movement Control Order) with effect from 22nd January to 4th February 2021. ANNOUNCEMENT ON CMCO - 11TH JANUARY 2021
On the evening of 11th Jan 2021, the Prime Minister announced the imposition of the Movement Control Order on six states and a stricter Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) on six states. Ipoh falls under the CMCO from 13th to 26th January 2021. Under this CMCO, interstate travel is prohibited and all public masses must adhere to to state guidelines of not more than 30 people per mass. As such, in our parish of St Michael, Ipoh, registration to attend weekend masses (Saturday or Sunday) will be through respective parish Ministries or BECs submitted to Fr Anthony Liew. Registration for weekday masses (Monday to Friday) will be through the representatives listed here.
