Welcome to the SMC family! We look forward to welcoming you into our community. All weekend and weekday mass times are listed in our About - Key Info page. If you wish to know more about the Catholic faith, feel free to enquire about the RCIA programme through our parish office via phone, e-mail or FB messaging.

Please note that during this period of the movement control order, all SOPs must be strictly observed in church for the safety of all.

We have many active and vibrant parish groups which you may be interested to be a part of. Click on the About - Parish Structure link to view the various ministries, BECs and groups in our SMC family. Those interested in outreach activities may check out our Sahabat Orang Asli ministry, Soup Kitchen and Ministry to the Poor among others.

Newcomers may be interested to know that we are the only church in Ipoh with a first-class relic of the Italian saint known fondly as Padre Pio. The relic consists of St Pio's blood on a part of the stained mittens which he wore during his life. Click here to read more about this relic and SMC's Padre Pio group, which is a support group for those who are ill or suffering from terminal illnesses.

SMC "JESUS + U + ME" EMMAUS PROJECT

The "SMC Jesus + U + Me" Emmaus project was initiated by our parish priest during the start of the covid-19 pandemic for the purpose of journeying with parishioners and assisting all those adversely affected economically, spiritually or emotionally by the movement control order (MCO). Click on the Archives 2020 link to read more about it and how to seek help for yourself or someone you know in need of aid.


RECYCLING PROJECT IN SMC

Parishioners may bring unwanted paper or boxes, plastics, old clothes and electrical items for recycling at SMC by the 3rd week of this month. Kindly ensure the clothes to be recycled are packed in plastic to prevent them from getting wet. Recyclable items must be sorted according to the categories and placed at the space provided opposite the Oak (next to the new columbarium). Please do not throw glass and wooden items.

All Catholics are encouraged to log on to the Catholic website "Formed.org". The Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur and Diocese of Penang have paid the yearly subscription for our use. This site is a rich resource for all Catholics and church leaders wishing to increase their knowledge about God, the bible and the Catholic faith. It also contains many useful tools like books, documentaries, videos and articles for ministry leaders, Sunday school teaching etc.

VATICAN INSTRUCTIONS ON BURIAL AND CONSERVATION OF ASHES

The Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith issued a new instruction on the burial of the dead and on the conservation of the ashes in cases of cremation, on 25th October 2016. Click here to read in detail about these instructions.
