1. ANNOUNCEMENT ON NEW PARISH PRIEST OF SMC & APPRECIATION
As announced by Cardinal Sebastian in the Penang diocesan updates in November, Fr Aloysius Tan will officially take over as parish priest of SMC from 30th November 2024.
We also take this time to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to Fr Philip Lai,C.Ss.r, Fr Charles Chin and Fr Anthony Heng,CDD, for taking care of our pastoral needs and the administration of SMC
in the transition period leading up to the appointment of our new parish priest.

3. REQUEST FOR PARISH BULLETIN VIA WHATSAPP
Parishioners who wish to receive a softcopy of the Mass Offerings and Bulletin Announcements, etc. are required to
follow these steps:-
i. Save the SMC WhatsApp number (011-26308369) into your mobile phones ;
ii. Send in a WhatsApp request to the number with your name and a remark: “Please add me into the WhatsApp broadcast list for Mass Offerings,
Bulletin Announcements and other information.”
4. RCIA 2024-25 SESSIONS
Do you wish to build a relationship with Jesus and deepen your knowledge about the Catholic Faith?
If you wish to know more about the Catholic faith or know of anyone interested to join the faith in SMC, do enquire at our parish office or
from the RCIA facilitators at the contact numbers given here.
You may learn more about the foundations of the Catholic faith and its teachings by following daily podcasts through the
Catechism in a Year channel by Ascension Press.
Click on their YouTube channel to follow daily episodes for each paragraph of the catechism of the Catholic Church.
The podcast will be as follows :
- introduction and prayer by the priest about the podcast;
- the actual reading from the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) ;
- followed by commentary about what is being read for the day.

Formed.org is an excellent source of faith programmes,faith-based movies, documentaries and books, including literary classics.
The Penang diocese has subscribed to it and access to these materials will be freely available to us for ONE YEAR upon registration.

Outreach to the Orang Asli is through the Perak Deanery Orang Asli Apostolate (directly under the purview of Penang diocese) based in our parish via Sahabat Orang Asli group.
Newcomers may be interested to know that we are the only church in Ipoh with a first-class relic of the Italian saint popularly known
as Padre Pio. Click here to read more about
