Lord,source of eternal life and truth, give to Your shepherd, Pope Francis, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. By governing wth fidelity those entrusted to his care, may he, as successor to the apostle Peter and vicar of Christ, build Your church into a sacrament of unity, love and peace for all the world. Lord, shelter our Holy Father, Pope Francis, under Your protection. Be his light, his strength and his consolation. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
